The powered support 1М4 consists of four-props sections with the barrier,
equipped with the rigid-linked or controllable visor with four-chain linking system of
the basis with the barrier; the basis – rigid-linked catamaran-type; extension ceiling
and barrier boards – one-sided or double-sided. It is equipped with the device for face
keeping by extracting seam thickness above 2.5 m.
It differs from the supports with the reverse advance scheme – the section advance is
carried out with plunger end of the hydraulic cylinder. In comparison with two-props
single-row supports it has reduced weight through more equitable load distribution by four
props. Almost vertical installation of hydraulic props is ensuring constant resistivity in
the whole working power range.
